Dobell Drawing Prize AGNSW, Sydney 2009.I like this image because it makes abstract views of common things such as a human and giving it a deers head. This piece also gives off optical effect where the background lines blend in with the foreground images and i like that the two look as if they merge to make one image while still being incorporated into the rest of the drawing.
The art piece itself is a large piece of thick paper with parts of it cut to create depth, with other cut out bits of card are stuck on to the surface and the rest of the piece is drawn images and writing.
To me the meaning of this image is talking about what the depths of our minds go to once our eyes are shut and we are in our own world and free to explore. I don't think i would change anything to image if i did it wouldn't be this image but maybe stronger lines.
This image is made up of postcard from around the world with sketched drawings of monuments or buildings or just something from the place where it may be from. I like the meaning each card has to its country also with the stamps of that country. it would be awesome to receive an envelope with a well sketched image.
The only change i would make to this piece is to have more of them from more places.
this is sickness to the max i reckon the two colors work well together as well as the main two images where one is very detailed and the other is some what basic. Is a product of street art with paint on wall, the main point to this piece of work is for the artists' family and friends as well as being something to someone else. i like it because the of the way its has been laid out to fit the environment. I would of possibly changed the designs instead of something as simple but it still works well as a piece
